
Sally Cook
Pastor
Pastor Sally Cook was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She is a graduate of
Valparaiso University with degrees in Psychology and Theology. She received her Master of
Divinity from Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus, Ohio.
Prior to entering the ordained ministry she worked with Lutheran Ministries of Florida and as a Pediatric Social Worker in Hospice and Hospital settings. Pastor Sally has served in the following Florida congregations: Lutheran Church of Our Savior/Tampa, St John Lutheran Church/Winter Park, St Paul’s Lutheran Church/Clearwater, Immanuel Lutheran Church/New Port Richey and Spirit of Grace Lutheran Church in West Pasco County. She completed an 18 month interim at Nativity Lutheran Church in Weeki Wachee in February 2014. She then worked at Gulfside Hospice in Pasco County as a Chaplain and Bereavement Counselor. She went on to serve as Interim Pastor at
St. Paul Lutheran Church/Sarasota and most recently as Interim Pastor at Holy Cross Lutheran Church/Spring Hill.
She has served the wider church as a member of the Florida Bahamas Synod
Council and had the privilege of serving as a voting member to the 2013 ELCA
Churchwide Assembly.

Sarah Mathews
Youth Director
Sarah Mathews grew up attending St. Michael in the 1990s. Following her confirmation at St. Michael, she served as a Sunday School teacher and has been an active member of the Music Ministry. In 2014, she became an active Youth Volunteer and accompanied St. Michael’s youth to Detroit for the 2015 ELCA National Youth Gathering. She joined the St. Michael staff as Youth Director in 2016.
Sarah is a social studies and science teacher. Before becoming a teacher, she worked as a tutor, aftercare counselor, and substitute teacher. These jobs have helped her to see the value and importance of creating strong relationships with children and youth. She finds this kind of interaction to be very fulfilling.
Sarah studied education at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, specializing
in social science education. She is an avid history lover. Her hobbies include
reading, writing, and making music.
